• Barclay Interiors was intimately involved in the concept, custom creation and execution of a project to refurbish the lobby and hallways of a boutique, thirty-two unit Yorkville condominium. There is no substitute for class and Sue’s design was the embodiment of classic class.

We were also fortunate to have Sue involved in the renovation of some of the common elements of a large loft-condominium building in the sought after Liberty Village area of Toronto. The design brief in this trendy area for the younger, upwardly-mobile set was suitably different. The end result, however, was another successful renovation project!

  • Susan has a discerning eye and an amazing ability to create exquisite, elegant environments. With her attention to detail, understanding of classic and contemporary design and thoughtful approach, Susan has designed many beautiful rooms. I have seen some of Susan's work in Europe and Canada and she has helped me with design on a number of occasions and I truly value her talent.
  • Sue worked with me on two major projects and I was equally delighted with all styles and results as the house evolved.

The first project was the original design and decorating of our custom built 5000 sq. ft. traditional home, backing on to a golf course in the Kingsway neighborhood of Toronto.  While Sue can be involved as much or as little as the client desires, for this initial build, Sue worked with me on all aspects of the project starting from scratch including work on the kitchen design, family and bedroom built-ins, fireplaces/mantles, as well as organizing and decorating all rooms.   From flooring selections to wall colours to lighting selections as well as sourcing ideal furniture and window coverings, Sue even picked detailed items such as faucets, finials/custom rods where necessary, right down to the hinges, doorknobs etc.. Further, Sue is always mindful of the client budget and frequently sources unique and lovely accent pieces at a fraction of the cost of the high end designer boutiques, to complement it all!

The next project was a complete basement renovation after a flood.  At that time we agreed to make the space a little more modern while ensuring that all elements still suited the rest of the home and we were able to re-use some existing pieces.  Sue always provides the highest level of quality and service to create comfortable, inviting and functional spaces that reflect the personality of her clients.  I was thrilled with the outcome of both projects and the working relationship I enjoyed with Sue along the way.  I can’t recommend Sue enough and I am open to speaking with prospective clients at any time.

Note too that our home was selected as a model home for “Taste of the Kingsway,” where the public buys tickets to view designer homes, in support of cancer.
